The Denver & Rio Grande Train Depot

The Denver & Rio Grande Train Depot, circa 1901 – 1902:  This was Westcliffe’s second depot which served the community until 1938.  The original depot burned in 1886.  (A narrow gauge branch ran from Canon City up Grape Creek from 1881 until being washed out eight years later.  A standard gauge line ran from Texas Creek into Westcliffe from 1901 until being abandoned in 1938).
